ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION (ED) or MALE SEXUAL IMPOTENCE

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is sexual dysfunction characterized by the inability to develop or maintain an erection of the penis during sexual performance.
A penile erection is the hydraulic effect of blood entering and being retained in sponge-like bodies within the penis. The process is often initiated as a result of sexual arousal, when signals are transmitted from the brain to nerves in the penis. Erectile dysfunction is indicated when an erection is difficult to produce. There are various circulatory causes, including alteration of the voltage-gated potassium channel, as in arsenic poisoning from drinking water. The most important organic causes are cardiovascular disease and diabetes, neurological problems (for example, trauma from prostatectomy surgery), hormonal insufficiencies (hypogonadism) and drug side effects.
Psychological impotence is where erection or penetration fails due to thoughts or feelings (psychological reasons) rather than physical impossibility; this is somewhat less frequent but often can be helped. Notably in psychological impotence, there is a strong response to placebo treatment. Erectile dysfunction, tied closely as it is about ideas of physical well being, can have severe psychological consequences.
Besides treating the underlying causes such as potassium deficiency or arsenic contamination of drinking water, the first line treatment of erectile dysfunction consists of a trial of PDE5 inhibitor drugs (the first of which was sildenafil or Viagra). In some cases, treatment can involve prostaglandin tablets in the urethra, injections into the penis, a penile prosthesis, a penis pump or vascular reconstructive surgery.
The Latin term impotentia coeundi describes simple inability to insert the penis into the vagina. It is now mostly replaced by more precise terms. The study of erectile dysfunction within medicine is covered by andrology, a sub-field within urology.

HOME REMEDIES for ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION (ED) or IMPOTENCE

ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION HOME REMEDIES

When left untreated, erectile dysfunction can cause romantic relationships to weaken, creates a great deal of stress, and lowers a man’s self-esteem. Whether your erectile dysfunction is associated with a failure to communicate within your relationship or a personal battle from within, home remedies can help put you on the right track. If you’d like to pinpoint a possible cause on your own, consider the following suggestions:

Exercise:

The more in shape you are, the less likely you are to face issues with your erections. Incorporate routine aerobic exercise (like walking and swimming) in order to keep the arteries that supply the penis healthy. For starters, you can start running for about 15 to 20 minutes for three times per week.

Quit Smoking:

Increase your virility by putting an end to the tobacco habit. Smoking affects erections, as it causes damage to the arteries, which restricts blood flow to the penis.

Better Sleep Patterns:

When you are constantly tired, it gets more difficult to achieve a satisfying erection. Getting at least six to eight hours of sleep per night is highly suggested. Some men even see a difference when they take a 30-minute power nap before having sex.

Oysters:

The zinc contained in oysters can help to enhance your vigor and sexual health. Eating just six oysters will satisfy your recommended daily allowance.

Learn How to De-Stress:

Dwelling on erectile dysfunction can trigger a vicious cycle of performance anxiety, guilt, fear, impotence, and additional relationship problems. Whether you learn meditation techniques or harness the power of deep breathing, it is important to reduce the amount of pressure that you put on yourself to have an erection.

Spice Up the Bedroom Antics:

Sometimes, the root to your erectile dysfunction problem is with a monotonous cycle of lovemaking – lacking in creativity and imagination. Spicing up the action in the bedroom can make a great difference, as it is important to create an environment full of excitement. Dust off the lingerie. Explore new positions. Relocate to a different room in your home.

Zinc:

If your body suffers from a deficiency in zinc, the stability, function, and processes of your reproductive organs can also suffer. Take a zinc supplement or increase the amount of zinc you consume in your diet so that you can enhance your immune function, increase your chances of reproducing, and treat the nervous system.

Protein:

Pump up your system with a decent amount of protein in your diet. Choose fish, chicken, turkey and lean cuts of beef over hamburgers, roasts, and pork that contain more fat.

Cut Back Alcohol Intake:

Since alcohol is a depressant responsible for slowing down the reflexes, a shot of whiskey, glass of red wine, or Bud Lite could very easily suppress your sexual responses. It is suggested to consume no more than one drink per day if you wish to keep an erection longer. This rounds out to one 12-ounce beer, 5-ounce glass of wine, or 1 ½ -ounce shot of hard liquor. If you have a heavy drinking habit, keep in mind that over time, you can trigger hormonal imbalances.
